Color & Style Trends We’re Still Loving in 2025

A refined look at the palettes and materials that continue to shape well-designed homes this year.

At FS Interiors, we began the year inspired by warm, grounded palettes and honest materials. Now that we’re halfway through 2025, those ideas are continuing to guide our projects. Whether designing for young families, professional households, or clients entering their next chapter, we see a consistent desire for homes that feel both thoughtful and personal.

These are the colors and finishes that continue to shape our design direction.

Earthy Browns + Warm Neutrals

We’re using deep tones like chocolate, clay, and sandstone to create depth without distraction. These colors are versatile and work across styles, from historical remodels to new construction. They bring an understated richness that holds up over time.

Why our clients love it: These neutrals bring a calming tone into high-traffic spaces while layering beautifully with other textures.

Design pairing: Stained oak cabinetry, burnished hardware, and textural elements like sisal or wool.

Greens That Feel Alive

Olive, forest, and moss are now staples in our work. We’re introducing these tones through cabinetry, wall colors, and accent upholstery to bring a natural rhythm into each space. These greens offer a grounded look that feels current without being trendy.

Where it shines: Transitional homes that blend classic architecture with a relaxed, modern approach.

Client feedback: “It makes the room feel like it breathes.”

Buttery Yellows and Warm Light

Soft yellow tones have become a go-to for brightening rooms without using stark white. These hues feel sunny, light, and welcoming without becoming overpowering. We often use them in guest rooms, nooks, or spaces with low natural light.

Common applications: Breakfast areas, hallway transitions, and secondary bedrooms.

Material pairings: Cream tile, soft linen drapes, and warm oak flooring.

Burgundy Accents and Moody Layers

Burgundy and wine tones have emerged as favorite accent colors for clients who want a touch of drama. These shades feel collected and luxurious when used with restraint. We often incorporate them in powder rooms, reading nooks, or accent upholstery.

How we balance it: Rich color with tailored silhouettes and warm metals.

Styling tip: Works well with natural linen, antique brass, and layered neutrals.

Natural Textures and Organic Finishes

This year has confirmed a strong client preference for finishes that feel rooted and tactile. We are working with clay tile, tumbled stone, natural woods, and soft woven textiles. These materials help clients feel more connected to their space.

Why it matters: These textures age gracefully and offer durability, making them ideal for long-term living.

In practice: Used across both family homes and quiet retirement spaces, often with low-maintenance finishes.

Looking Ahead

Our clients are looking for more than a seasonal update. They want their homes to reflect their lifestyle, values, and priorities—whether that means creating a kid-friendly layout, investing in a forever home, or simply making the most of a busy season of life.

If you’re ready to design a home that feels personal and enduring, we’d love to help you get there.
